Durante la
Semana Santa mi tío y tía me visitaron.
Me
Holy
Week
My uncle and aunt visited me during
Holy Week. I picked them up at the airport on Saturday afternoon and we went to
Sacromonte together, the neighborhood where they had rented a house. I stayed
with them and I liked living in another part of Granada (even though it was only a week). The
first day we went to the “Carmen de los Mártires” gardens (I think that’s what
they’re called), and later we climbed a small mountain to a beautiful cemetery.
The second day we went to the Alhambra
and spent six hours inside, exploring everything. The third day we took a train
to Ronda. That was my favorite. Out of all the cities I’ve visited with the
group, Ronda was the only one I wanted to go back to. Another day we took an
olive-oil tour (which sounds boring, but was actually interesting) and at the
end I dropped a bottle of olive oil that was part of a set of six, and so we
had to buy the set. But the employees were really nice, and they even replaced
the missing bottle “so everyone’s happy,” they said. Other things we did: we
saw a flamenco show, we had dinner in a restaurant in Albaicín that looked out
over the Alhambra ,
we watched a sunrise, and we watched a little bit of a procession that passed
by our street. I was sad when they left but at the same time I am relieved to
go back to my normal Spain
life.
