Antes
autobuses, aviones y aeropuertos. Me preguntó a mí mismo: “¿Por
qué había querido aprender el Español?” En la Universidad de Connecticut, estoy
estudiando Comunicaciones y Ingles. Quería regresar a UCONN.
significa “You Only Live Once” en Inglés o “nosotros tenemos sólo una vida.”
No
Ahora,
me encanta Granada.
mismo.
Sólo una vida (YOLO)

Before
and at the beginning of this semester in Spain, I was worried about the little
things in life. Although I liked my friends here, my apartment, and the señora
of my house, I felt frustrated because I didn’t know much Spanish and I did not
like the city much. I didn’t like travelling because usually I have problems
sleeping in general, and especially in strange places like buses, planes and
airports. I asked myself: “Why had I wanted to learn Spanish?” At the
University of Connecticut, I am studying Communications and English. I wanted
to return to UCONN.
But,

There was a moment when I realized that I needed to relax and enjoy my life. I
understood that I needed to change my way of living. My friends and I started to

After
this moment, I started to take risks and do things that I wanted to do, although
I was afraid. Spain taught me how to be calmer in general. I was not worried
about homework anymore. Also, I started to talk with more people in public in
Spanish and I was not worried too much about the opinions of others. Furthermore,
I started to sleep more than I have slept in my whole life. Now, I take “siestas”
(naps) a lot and I can sleep in buses, planes and airports!
Now,
I love Granada. My experience here has taught me that the little things in life
are not important. I am lucky in my life – I have a perfect family and perfect
friends, I have opportunities, including this magnificent opportunity. Now, I
like Spanish. In one year, it is probably that I will return to Spain or South
America to learn more about the language and also about myself.
