Ayer fue el Día de la Cruz en España, específicamente en Granada. El señor de mi casa invitó a Lay y dos de mis
amigas que viven muy cerca, a la casa para almorzar y después para ver la cruz
del barrio. Él cocinó una paella
deliciosa e hizo un postre de fresas y una tarta de helado. Había tanta comida que todos casi no podían moverse. Él nos contó muchas historias de
estudiantes del pasado, de la Día de la Cruz, y muchas otras cosas. Después, anduvimos a una exposición de
pinturas de los pintores del barrio. El señor
pinta con un grupo de hombres y mujeres, y siempre demuestran algunas de sus
obras durante la semana de la Día de la Cruz.
Finalmente, fuimos a ver la Cruz actual.
Era muy bonita, con muchas flores, plantas, y cosas y símbolos de la
cultura del barrio y de España. El grupo
de pintores también pinta un mural para poner en el fondo de todo. Fue un día muy divertido y creo que todos se
disfrutaron muchísimo.
La Cruz
Yesterday was the Day of the Cross in Spain, specifically in
Granada. My señor invited Lay and two of
my friends that live very close, to the house to eat lunch and later to see the
cross for the neighborhood. He cooked a
delicious paella and made a dessert of strawberries and a type of ice cream
cake. There was so much food that
everyone almost couldn’t move. He told
us stories of students from the past, the Day of the Cross, and a lot of other
things. After, we walked to an
exposition of paintings by the painters in the neighborhood. My señor paints with a group of men and
women, and they always show some of their works during the week of the Day of
the Cross. Finally, we went to see the
actual cross. It was really pretty, with
a lot of flowers, plants, and things and symbols from Spanish culture and of
the neighborhood. The group of painters
also paints a mural to put in the background of everything. It was a very fun day and I believe that
everyone enjoyed themselves a lot.
