Enferma en España

Cuando estaba enferma, me sorprendí mucho como reaccionó mi señora. Estaba un poco resfriada y cuando ella supo, yo no podía creer lo que hizo ella. Le dije que estaba bien y no necesitaba nada, pero ella corrió a la cocina y llevó medicinas, vitaminas, un cuenco lleno con agua caliente, un vaso de agua, Vick’s Vapor Rub, y guantes. Le dije que no me gusta tomar medicinas cuando estoy enferma pero ella no me escuchaba. Tenía que poner la cabeza en el cuenco y respirar el vapor de la agua caliente. Pensé que ésto fue muy raro. Ella se ponía los guantes y cogió el Vick’s Vapor Rub. Yo estaba nerviosa. Ella empezó a poner el Vick’s Vapor Rub en mi cuello y en la cara. Fue muy extraño. Ella ponía una vitamina en mi boca, y trató a hacer lo mismo con las medicinas pero no las tomé. No me gusta tomar medicinas. Ella dijo que iba a correr a la farmacia, pero insistí en que estaba bien. No podía creerlo. En mi casa en los Estados Unidos, no pasa nada cuando estoy enferma. Mis padres no hacen nada a menos que sea algo muy serioso. Pero aquí, es como una emergencia.

When I was sick, it surprised me so much how my Señora reacted. I had a little cold and when she found out, I couldn’t believe what she did. I told her that I was fine and I didn’t need anything, but she ran to the kitchen and brought back medicines, vitamins, a bowl filled with hot water, a glass of water, Vick’s Vapor Rub, and gloves. I told her that I don’t like to take medicines when I'm sick but she wasn’t listening to me. I had to put my head in the bowl and breathe in the steam from the hot water. I thought that this was very weird. Then, she put on the gloves and took the Vick’s Vapor Rub. I was nervous. She began to put the Vick’s Vapor Rub on my neck and face. It was very strange. She put a vitamin in my mouth and tried to do the same with the medicines but I didn’t take them. I don’t like to take medicine. She said that she was going to run to the pharmacy but I insisted that I was fine. I couldn’t believe it. In my house in the US nothing happens when I'm sick. My parents don’t do anything unless it’s serious. But here, it is like an emergency.
