Sábado perfecto

    Yo tuve una tarde perfecta este Sábado durante el fin de semana pasado con Chelsie. Nosotros nos encontramos con una amiga de Granada, María, y su compañera Tanja a la Estatua de Isabel Católico que es cerca de Centro de Lenguas Modernas (nuestra escuela!). Luego, ellas caminaron con Chelsie y yo a un lugar precioso para ver La Alhambra y la ciudad. Había personas con guitaras, niños pequeños que juegan con los perros, y algunas gitanas; fue un lugar perfecto para mirar las personas. Después, caminamos por el barrio el Albaicín que es uno de los lugares más famosos en Granada con los caminos de piedra y calles estrechos. Fuimos a un “tetaría” y bebimos algo te delicioso; tuve un tipo con el nombre Pakistaní con vainilla y canela. Música de Árabe toco en el fondo; muy calma! Decidimos terminar nuestra día con el cine; Chelsie y yo fuimos un poco nerviosas que no pudimos comprender nada pero, pudimos comprender mucho de la película! Un billete costo solamente 5.50 Euro ( mas barato que los Estados Unidos) y las palomitas  de maíz fueron salados pero sin mantequilla ( quizás es porque todas personas están flacas aquí). Además, el cine tuvo cuatro pisos y tuvimos sillas asignaras. En general, fue un día relajado en Granada, España.

I enjoyed the perfect Saturday afternoon this past weekend with Chelsie. We met up with a friend from Granada, Maria, and her flat mate, Tanja, at the statue of Isabel the Catholic which is close to Centro de Lenguas Modernas (our school!). They then walked us up to this gorgeous viewing point where we could see La Alhambra and look down on the city. There were people playing guitar, little kids chasing the dogs, and some gypsies there as well; great place to people watch. After, we walked through the Albaicin neighborhood which is one of the most famous places in Granada with lots of cobblestone paths and narrow streets. We went to a “tetaria” (tea shop) and had some delicious tea; I had a type called Pakistani with vanilla and cinnamon. Arabic music was playing in the background; very cool! We decided to end our day by going to the movies; Chelsie & I were a little nervous that we wouldn’t understand anything but we were pleasantly surprised! A ticket got 5.50 Euro (cheaper than the U.S.) and the popcorn was salty but not drenched in butter (maybe that’s why everyone is so skinny here). Also, the theatre was four floors high and we had assigned seats! Overall, it was a relaxing Spanish day in Granada.
