While there are many parts of Granada that are interesting and beautiful, perhaps my favorite is the Albaicin. For our Spanish culture class Thursday, we went to the Albaicin with a tour guide. I already went earlier in the semester to see the sunset, but I was happy to go again! We walked around the Albaicin for two hours and learned about the history and the people who live there. In my opinion, the people there seem very hippie-ish. All of the people in the Albaicin have clothes that are very different from the majority of people in Granada. Also, the houses area very close together and there are streets of cobblestone. Finally, the view at the top of the Albaicin is fantastic. My Señora told me that Michelle Obama and Bill Clinton watched the sunset from there. I loved the Albaicin, and I want to go there many more times.
La puesta del sol al Albaicin. Muy, muy hermosa. (the sunset at the Albaicin. Very, very beautiful!) :) |
Also, I have good news! My Señora has a daughter, and her daughter's friend has a niece who plays soccer. Tomorrow, I am going to play soccer with her. I am VERY excited. I will prove that Americans can play soccer very well!
