Adios, Granada!

Sólo hay una semana hasta que vuelvo a mi casa en estados unidos.  No puedo creer que el semestre haya pasado tan rápido ni que ya haya sido cuatro meses desde que yo llegue en Granada. He disfrutado muchísimo estos cuatro meses, aprendiendo la lengua y cultura española, y viajando.  Voy a echar de menos la ciudad de Granada porque es muy bonita y me encanta estar en ciudades. 

Puedo recordarme que cuando llegue en enero, todo era raro y diferente.  Estaba muy nervioso estar independiente en un país diferente cuando no tenía fluidez en la lengua.  También, estaba nervioso vivir con una familia que no conocía.  Ahora, la cultura todavía es diferente, pero estoy acostumbrado a las diferencias.  Aunque no tengo fluidez con la lengua, puedo ver claramente que puedo hablar, escribir, y entender cien veces mejor que antes y también tengo mucho más independencia.  Durante el semestre, la relación entre yo y mi familia española ha crecido mucho, y ahora ellos son como mi propia familia que voy a echar de menos.

Estoy muy contento que he estudiado aquí en Granada por un semestre, pero estoy listo para volver a estados unidos para ver mi familia, mis amigos, y comer mis comidas favoritas otra vez.  ¡Una semana!

      Granada

There’s only one week until I return to my home in the United States.  I can’t believe that the semester has passed so fast or that it already has been four months since I arrived in Granada.  I’ve enjoyed these four months a lot, learning the Spanish language and culture, and traveling.  I am going to miss the city of Granada because it’s really pretty and I love to be in cities. 

I can remember that when I arrived in January, everything was strange and different.  I was really nervous to be independent in a different country when I wasn’t fluent in the language.  Also, I was nervous to live with a family that I didn’t know.  Now, the culture is still different, but I’m accustomed to the differences.  Although I’m not fluent in the language, I can clearly see that I can speak, write, and understand one hundred times better than before and I also have much more independence.  During the semester, the relationship between my Spanish family and I has grown a lot, and now they are like my own family that I will miss.

I’m very happy that I’ve studied here in Granada for a semester, but I’m ready to return to the United States to see my family, friends, and eat my favorite foods again.  One week!
